Our design-build team was challenged by Widefield School District #3 to design and construct a 1500-student comprehensive High School - in less than two years. The 34-acre site was an unimproved portion of a 200-acre tract in the city of Fountain, just south of Colorado Springs, CO. Working closely with the District and selected staff in an intensive on-site workshop, our team was able to program, budget and conceptually design the 174,000 SF school in just one week.
Mesa Ridge High School was dedicated less than two years after the initial workshop. The District received a refund of more than half of the floating contingency fund developed in the initial budget. Many who participated still cite Mesa Ridge as their most rewarding professional experience.
