The YMCA of San Diego is committed to providing outdoor education facilities to children and families within the county. Camp Surf in Imperial Beach provides summer overnight camps, seasonal retreats, and day camps within their 45-acre beach front site. Davy Architecture was asked to provide Architectural and Engineering services to support the expansion and face-lift of their existing kitchen building/dining hall. The firm provided design for a 5,200 SF single-story addition, inclusive of both indoor and outdoor areas. Davy provided finish schedules, window and door details, fire place selection, and other rustic features. The facility now provides indoor seating for more than 200 visitors, and the shaded outside patio seating accommodates another 160 individuals. The kitchen amenities can support both buffet style and family style meal services.
