The Solana Beach School District celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Skyline Elementary School under sunny skies on Friday, June 9.
Skyline, a Solana Beach School District elementary school, was originally constructed in the 1950s. With the passage of a local bond in November 2016, this site will be reconstructed into a 70,000 SF school.
The District plans to complete the construction of this facility and open the school Fall 2018. Construction is projected to commence June 2017. The school facility will consist of 650 students and will house 34 K-6 classrooms, a library/media center, art room, music room, computer room, resource specialist area, science lab, stage multi-purpose building, administrative offices, and many more facilities. Students will be relocated off-site during the construction period.
